Burlingame Vision Zero Action Plan

December 2024 to Present
Client: City of Burlingame

The Burlingame Vision Zero Action Plan is an effort of the City of Burlingame’s Public Works Department to reach zero fatalities and serious injuries on local roadways. The Plan emphasizes proactive and preventative approaches to make safer streets for everyone and includes identifying high-injury network locations at which to prioritize future transportation investments.

Winter is leading digital and in-person engagement through developing and maintaining a project website, creating and disseminating surveys, supporting Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings, and implementing community pop-up events over the course of the project. During the first phase of engagement, nearly 500 individuals provided their input through digital or in-person methods on topics relating to safety of people walking or biking, unsafe driving behaviors, specific corridors and locations to include in the high-injury network, efficacy of existing safety measures, and ideas for behavior change and educational programs.
